Learn to Skate
BYHA created the Learn to Skate program for those interested in playing hockey at the start of the 2021/2022 season. Learn to Skate focuses on forward/backward skating and hockey fundamentals.
Ages
BYHA encourages those interested in playing hockey between 3yrs-10yrs of age to come learn to skate.
When
Practices are held once a week for 4, 4 week sessions.
Session 1 typically begins late October or early November depending on ice conditions.
Where
Edwards Ice Arena
Practices
Once a week for 45 minutes each practice.
EQUIPMENT
Limited used equipment is available for free. Equipment can be also be rented from BYHA for $50.
Limited helmets & Skates available.
COST
Each 4 week session costs $25.

Learn to Skate is broken down into four, 4 week sessions.
Our Learn to Skate program is designed to teach players how to skate forwards, backwards, and stop before joining a hockey team. We strive to teach and educate the players and the parents on the game.
